God is Love and Love is God. This is an edited version of a post from early 2023.
We meditate to become one with love. Meditation allows for the mind to drop, energy to flow freely and when energy flows freely we feel Love. We feel go(o)d. It is the tool that allows you to see the separation between the Mind and the I AM, The True Nature. It is the tool, the practice that teaches the body to let go and allow energy to flow freely.
Meditation is the call to the silent nature, the observer, others call it the I Am, the true nature. Meditation opens the mind to that silence, allows for the endless chattering in your head to cease. We generally are anxious and depressed because we have not given time to our Selves, our true nature. Our true nature cries out to be recognized and heard, but we are so caught up in the chatter of what we should be doing and how we should feel that we rarely experience peace. The key to allowing our true nature to enter our lives fully is to learn to quiet the mind. Meditation is a practice that allows the chatter to drop and love to enter. You’ve made room for love to enter. It now feels welcome and safe in the quiet space you have created. A regular meditation practice will nurture that relationship with yourself. You may become more intuitive. Your life might be more synchronistic. That is your true nature breaking down the barriers of the trickster.
Some cultures have personified the mind as the trickster because it literally tricks you into ignoring your silent nature. The Navajo and Cherokee cultures both have coyote trickster tales. Anansi, the spider, is an African trickster, Loki from Norse mythology another. The Navajo culture is so steeped in the search for beauty, love and joy that an actual coyote is a thing to be avoided at all costs. We don’t need to look out for four-legged coyotes, but it is important to be mindful of the coyotes in our thoughts. Meditation opens the mind to loving, joyful possibilities. that in turn increase the feeling of gratitude. Gratitude is the antidote to the endless chatter and quells the coyote thinking of the mind. When gratitude increases love-of-self, your True Nature, increases. Love of self creates a quiet mind, and a quiet mind allows for love to Be.
The more you meditate, the more powerful gratitude becomes. The more you hold a grateful attitude, the easier it is to quiet the mind and meditate. The mind, though, can be a trickster and a distractor. The mind can convince you that there is no joy or love, or that you are not worthy of such wonders. Being grateful calls your True Self, your True Nature out and immediately it rejoices in being recognized and summoned. You feel good again., whole, complete. You are now balanced. Practicing gratitude makes it easier to practice meditation. Practicing meditation makes it easier to feel grateful. Both are calls to the Self that it is recognized and heard.
