Feeling bad is easy, it also tries to lie to you and get you to feel worse.
The mind tends to focus on bad stuff. It’s habitual thinking. Habitual thoughts develop when you are a child, long before you had any real control over the direction of your thoughts, or even an understanding of the world. Yes, you do have control over your thoughts. You have thoughts, your thoughts do not have you. No matter how much the mind tries to tell you that you cannot change or that it is impossible to feel good, you have the choice to change what you think in any moment.
Know the lies. Knowing that the mind can lie to you actually increases your ability to choose joy. One hundred percent of the time when you are feeling bad it is because the mind is lying to you. The body may be sick, but you still have the ability to choose the truth. Recognize the illness, but don’t allow the disease to steal your joy. You have the power of choice. The important thing is deciding to believe the lie (I am sick so I must feel bad) or to realize the truth (the body is ill, but I choose to experience joy). Here’s something that will make the choice even easier, the feeling with which you live your life informs your manifestation. It’s the law of attraction. Likes attract. When you feel energy moving in your body you feel good. That good feeling creates positive effects in your life.
It is like water in a stream. The thoughts ride over the top of the stream like a leaf. A negative thought, or the lie is like a river or a blockage in the stream. The leaf cannot move and pretty soon more leaves pile up until the stream is completely blocked.

Notice that in changing your thought, the focus is on the thought and not about the immediate event, the trigger, whatever happened right before you felt bad. Change your focus, and you will change your thought. You’ll feel better, and the situation will change also. For the better. After a while you get the importance of joy and maintaining a joyful life.
Making Joy Work
- Recognize the feeling in your body, are you tense? Quesy? Do you feel irritated?
- Change your focus and think a new thought. Any thought will do, but generally, a pleasant thought works the best.
- Relax the body and let the energy move through any areas of tightness in your body.

Rinse and repeat as often as necessary
